Dreamy Mel Mel Review

Hello everyone! Today this post is coming to you from Japan, as I set it to be published whilst I am on holiday! It is just a mini-review, as I only ordered a badge from Dreamy Mel Mel, to try out buying from her, but I hope to buy more in the future!
Dreamy Mel Mel is a Japanese artist who has collaborated with Spank! in the past. She has her own store on The Base, a shop platform similar to that of Storenvy, where she sells her artworks and jewelry. Her items are in the Pop Kei style, with lots of pastel and bright colours, and are very popular so many are often sold out! I fell in love with the badge design which she recently released, and decided to buy one through the shopping service From Japan. I wanted to try From Japan, as their usage fee is very low (200 yen), and they offer small packet Airmail, which is very cheap ^^
Here is the badge I ordered;
The badge itself cost 540 yen plus around 200 yen for domestic postage. It arrived at the shopping service about 3 days after I placed my order, which was fairly rapid, and as soon as it arrived, From Japan contacted me to confirm my shipping method and second payment. From Japan allows you to chose a shipping method and tells you the price for each, so you can pick a quicker/slower method to suit your needs. I chose Small Packet without insurance, which was very cheap at around 250 yen.
My package arrived about 8 days later, as Small Packet is a little slower than Registered Airmail. From Japan had safely wrapped the package in a sturdy standard Japan Post envelope, so everything was kept secure.
When I opened the envelope, I found that the shop owner had wrapped everything very cutely and with lots of bubble wrap, as well as kindly including a cute sticker and her business card!
I love all the pastel colours, and her illustrations are so cute and unique!
Everything altogether, with a cute blue pastel filter! The badge is super sturdy and has a simple pin-back, so can easily be pinned onto a t-shirt or jacket ^^
I decided to wear the badge in a cute and casual Spank! style outfit;
Please excuse how sleepy I look; I had just finished my job and was a little tired!

I'm super happy with how lovely the badge looks in real life, and I will definitely be trying to order more of Mel Mel's items in the future, if I can grab them before they sell out! I hope she releases more items featuring her drawings since they are so cute and very 80s style!

I also really recommend From Japan as a shopping service; the fees are very cheap compared to most other services, which is ideal if you are buying a smaller or low-value item, and the fact that they offer cheap postage options is also fantastic! They were very quick to update me when my item arrived, and posted the badge out within a couple of days of receiving my shipping payment.

I hope this little review was informative, and I hope you are all having a wonderful summer!

WEGO Review

Hello lovelies! Apologies for my absence - I have recently been working on my Masters dissertation as well as going to Hyper Japan last weekend and so have been super busy! Today I wanted to share my review of the items I bought from WEGO, before I jet off to Japan for 16 days this Sunday!
For those of you who aren't familiar with it, WEGO is a Japanese shop based in Harajuku, which sells a selection of clothing and accessories for men and women, to suit a range of styles. Some of their items are perfect for fairy kei and pop kei, and their prices are very reasonable! ^^ WEGO does not ship overseas at this time as far as I am aware, so you will need to use a standard shopping service-I chose to use Japonica Market, my usual service, as they are very reliable and always mark down packages to a low value.
Here is a peek at the items I bought! Most of them were on Sale at the time, so they may no longer be available online, however WEGO is always adding lots of cute new items to the website!
I had wanted a pair of puffy earrings for the longest time and they were on sale for less than $2, so I snapped them up right away! The socks suit my obsession with sundaes and soda floats, and the bag reminded me of Katie and Swankiss, along with the choker! Altogether the items cost less than 2,000 yen which was fantastic!
Once I had ordered these items through Japonica, it took about 4 days for them to reach the shopping service from WEGO. When the items arrived to me, they were all wrapped neatly in bubble wrap and plastic wrap to protect them well and keep them clean.

When I opened up the box, everything was so neat and safe!

I could tell straight away that the shell was super iridescent and dreamy!

The print on the socks shows up much better in real life than on the website, which I was super pleased about! They are perfect for a casual outfit and I will definitely wear them on my holiday ^^

All the items together, with a dreamy blue filter! The earrings are huge compared to what I thought, about 3 inches across in size! O.O They are a little heavy but fairly comfortable to wear. The bag is super shiny and reminds me of a silk pillow, I'm scared to use it much in case it gets dirty!

Here are some worn photos from the last few weeks! ;

I wore the choker for both the fashion shows at Hyper Japan, and carried the bag with me for the first show!

With friends old and new! Credit to my friend Rachael for the first photo and Sarah for the second!

Day 2!

Day 3!

Overall, I was super pleased with my WEGO items; they are all good quality and I have had no issues with them so far. The earrings and bag are soft, the socks are comfy to wear and the choker feels nice against your skin, even when wearing it all day long (tried and tested at HJ! :P). The prices for the items were very cheap considering their good quality, and I will definitely be visiting the WEGO shop to buy more items next week in Tokyo!

I hope you all found this review interesting and helpful! If you have any queries about ordering from WEGO, please leave a comment below! I hope all your evenings are lovely, and I will see you all soon!
