Visit to Tofu Cute!

Hello lovelies! As some of you may know, I recently paid a visit to Tofu Cute's new shop which opened up in Portsmouth at the end of last year. Luckily my family home is little more than an hours drive from Portsmouth, so I decided to finally make the trip down there.

I'm a big big fan of Tofu Cute and their sister company, Dreamy Bows, who sell lots of Japanese brands like Angelic Pretty, Kokokim and recently Listen Flavor. For anyone who doesn't know, Tofu Cute stocks Japanese candy, snacks, plushies and other cute items and often have pop-up stalls at conventions like MCM and Hyper Japan! They also have a website which ships worldwide!

Luckily the weather on the day was lovely and sunny, so I was able to put together a cute summery outfit. It is a little windy by the sea though, so I made sure to take a comfy cardigan along with me!

I wore my new skirt by To My Bear (To Alice), with my shirt from CutesyKink and new shoes from DreamV! I'll be reviewing the shoes and skirt in an upcoming post! My badge is Accessorize and the pompoms are H&M kids. I opted for cute braids with my real hair to keep it tidy in the wind! ^^

The shop itself is located a little bit out of the city centre, but it was super easy for us to reach by car using the trusty SatNav! You can spot the shop straight away thanks to the adorable exterior...

Have you ever seen a cuter window display?? Let's take a peek inside!

To the left as you walk in are lots of Japanese candies, with a huge range of brands like Puccho, Hi-Chew and more! Sadly they were sold out of Soda puccho when i visited, which doesn't surprise me as they are delicious! The shop girl was very kind and found me the soda x white peach flavour instead, which is super tasty and I recommend!! My Dad tried out the cola flavour, which was also yummy

More and more super tasty snacks and candies...I spotted some DIY candy kits which I know are super popular and I have yet to try! >.<

ALL THE SNACKS XD There is seriously a whole snack wall, which is absolute heaven for me...

I was thrilled to see a big selection of Japanese biscuits and chocolates like Meiji. There was a big range of Pocky biscuits and my absolute favourite candy/chocolate combo, Choco Gummy! You can view the whole range of snacks on the Tofu Cute website, and their stock online is a good indicator of what you can find in store!

On the right as you enter the shop is the counter where the staff greet you as you come in, and next to that, a fridge full of different drinks! I spotted lots of different editions and flavours of Ramune, as well as iced teas, sodas, and even Rilakkuma milk tea, which I thought was adorable!

Next, a wall of adorable petite food charms! I love miniature sweets and deco-style charms, so I spent a long time examining everything here!

My favourites were these miniature macaron phone charms complete with a whipped cream embellishment. They look good enough to eat! I completely forgot to pick one up as I was so excited by my other purchases, but luckily they are available on the website!

Next to this, lots and lots of glorious Alpacasso and other plushies! They stock a range of sizes all the way from little baby phone charms, to huge ones as big as a small dog! Their prices are very reasonable and there is a big range to choose from; there were even more medium-sized alpacas in the centre of the shop in a rack, but I had a moment of epic failure and forgot to take a photo >.<"

And lastly but by no means least, at the back, a small stationary and writing display, and tucked away in the corner, my favourite bit; the Dreamy Bows display! The shop assistant kindly told me that they only display a small number of items, but they have a greater number in stock that you can ask about. They are very happy to answer queries if you have seen a particular item in stock on line that you can't spot in store! On display they had some cute Chocomint items, fake lashes and nails, a cute range of bags and other accessories!

I had a (very) long chat with the shop assistants about Dreamy Bows, and mentioned that I really liked that they were stocking Listen Flavour items when I saw them at Hyper Japan last winter. The shop girl kindly offered to show me the items they had at that time, as there were some tucked away at the back, and asked me what colours I preferred (I said pastels of course!). She went away and brought out all the different pastel items from Listen Flavour, which I was so excited and grateful for, as I wasn't able to buy any of the items at Hyper Japan (spending too much money on food cough cough). She kindly showed me all of the items and talked about them in detail, and I loved hearing all about their plans for the brand. They plan to stock Listen Flavour online soon, which I am so excited for!

So what did I buy in the end? Well originally I had planned to buy all the foods (which in retrospect was probably not the wisest as I would have been rolling home by the end of the day!) but when I saw all the Listen Flavor clothes, I just knew I had to take something home with me...

(This is the only stock photo I could spot of this design)

I had seen this long hoodie top at their stall at Hyper Japan and I just loved the sundae design as its so perfect for fairy kei and pop kei! Plus the design has little hints of creepy cute which I really admire. So when I saw that they had it in stock in the lavender x black , I fell in love all over again!

*screams internally*

There are no words for how cute this design is...

The same design outlined on the back of the hoodie!

As well as the hooded top, I bought a few little bits and pieces;

A Hello Kitty pen, Shigekix sours, Puccho and Choco Gummy!

The design on the pen is so perfect and pastel, and it has cute little charms on the end to!

Close-ups on tasty snacks *^^*

All in all, visiting Tofu Cute was a wonderful experience, and I definitely recommend paying them a visit! The assistants were so friendly and helpful and went out of their way for me, which was so kind! I'll be back in the area soon and I hope I can make a day trip down to Portsmouth to see them again. I hope they open up another store closer to London in the future to! I'm super excited to put an outfit together with my new Listen Flavor top, and I definitely want to get hold of more of their designs in the future ~
